Richard I. Shope (Retired)
Richard focused his practice on advising clients on real estate and business matters. Richard assisted his clients on real estate issues such as commercial and residential real estate transactions, planned unit development formation, landlord tenant disputes, condemnations, title disputes, and boundary line disputes. Richard also counseled business owners through the processes of business formation, business sales and purchases, and drafting, interpreting, and litigating contracts for over four decades.
Richard is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association Real Property Section, the North Carolina State Bar, and the Greensboro Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all State Courts in North Carolina, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina, and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Richard received a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to law school, Richard received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Richard enjoys hiking, playing golf, and traveling with his wife. Richard began enjoying his retirement in April 2018.
